DID YOU KNOW….
In Africa, HIV is passed along through blood transfusions. As of December of 2009, 250 to 500 people every day in Africa would contract the disease from transfusions. The risk is very high and patients usually know the risk but choose to take the blood anyway. Worldwide HIV contraction through transfusions is 95 %! This unbelievable statistic is true! Check out the article!

What I have Learned….
This week I have learned that HIV patients have to take a lot of pills. I feel that that amount of pills is stressful. As I did the assignment and finished it up to turn it in on Friday, I was just stressed. That amount of pills messes up your day. I did the first one and all my pills really only had to be taken in the morning and night but it was still hard to stomach 18 pills. I really learned a lot in the project and have so much respect for HIV patients.
My Progress…..
This week I am waiting for the quiz to open and trying to complete some extra credit assignments. I can not believe that we are almost through with the semester which means my wedding is coming up! So I look forward to learning more and for the semester to be finished.

  2. As we get better at manufacturing man-made blood, we won't have this problem in the future. This is something that is long over due and it could save millions of lives around the world.

  3. I know exactly how you felt, it was really hard to keep up with the schedule and the amount of pills that we had to take for our assignment.
